On October 18, 2008, International House celebrated the 20th Anniversary Benefit Gala by highlighting countries from all the previous Galas. The event was held at the Hilton Charlotte Center City and attended by over 375 guests and numerous dignitaries, including Honorary Chairs, Donald and Janet Haack; The Honorable Robert Mackenzie, Consul & Senior Trade Commissioner, Canadian Consulate, Raleigh; Mrs. Millie Cox, Honorary Consul of France, Charlotte; Mr. Dana M. Hicks, Honorary Consul of Canada, Charlotte; Mrs. Jennifer Watson Roberts, Chair, Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners.

The 20th Anniversary Benefit Gala was produced by the all volunteer Gala Committee and International House. The Gala Committee was co-chaired by Josane Calvert, Stefanie Staton and Anna Wilbanks. All proceeds from the Annual Galas support the programs and services of International House.

International House is a leading non-profit organization promoting international understanding by serving as a center for diversity, advocating for people of national backgrounds and facilitating professional and cultural exchange programs.
