Adult English Tutoring Program

Help International House provide English tutoring to adult English language learners. We are seeking college and graduate students to serve as tutors in our summer Adult ESL Summer Program. Interns will work with adults who need help with their English speaking, writing, reading, listening and comprehension skills.

 

This year, our program a six-week long session: June 18th- July 27th. Tutors will work from 8am-12pm or 1pm-4pm on Mondays - Thursdays with Fridays spent at International House for group planning and evaluation. Tutoring sessions will be held at Merry Oaks International Academy Elementary and Albermarle Road Elementary School.

 

Potential tutors will be contacted to schedule an interview and all hired interns are expected to attend orientation at International House. This position requires candidates to work with adults with varying English language skills therefore, a strong interest in working with the immigrant community is essential. Please note that this is an unpaid internship.
