Adding our voice, supporting the AAPI community

The events of last week have left us angry and brokenhearted. We mourn the deaths of the eight people killed in Atlanta last Tuesday, six of which were Asian American women. For the past year we’ve seen a rise in anti-Asian sentiment and harassment, Stop AAPI Hate documented nearly 3,800 incidents of discrimination and hate from March 2020 to February 28, 2021, 68% of which were against women.

We condemn the violence, harassment, and discrimination against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community (AAPI), against any person no matter race, creed, culture, or orientation. We stand in solidarity with our AAPI neighbors and raise our voices to call for a better future. Systemic racism and inequality have no place in our country, and we refuse to stay silent.

Since 1981, International House has been a symbol of inclusion, compassion, and connection. We will continue to support our immigrant neighbors and stand with those that believe hate has no place in our community.
