Global Perspectives Speaker Series: An International Celebration of Black History

In the latest installment of the Global Perspective Speaker Series, The Young Professionals @ International House hosted a panel of local and international thought leaders and engaged our audience in a very powerful discussion! The panel discussed in detail the importance of Black History and the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement on a international, national and local level.


We are grateful to panelists Anderson Miamen, Executive Director, Center for Transparency- Liberia, Rev. Corine Mack, President NAACP Charlotte Chapter, Ashleigh Hargrave, Director, Health Equity- Novant Health and moderator Monifa Drayton, Asst. Vice President- Atrium Health for their willingness to share their perspectives in this discussion. This important conversation touched on many important aspects of society including healthcare, biases in public places, the importance of Black social justice movements. The views that our expert speakers shared helped tremendously with what we can all do to become a global community rooted in equity.
